NAPOLEON BOULET It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our much loved father, grandfather and great grandfather on July 1, 2014 after a short illness. Napoleon was a loyal husband of 58 years to Madeleine Chatelain, deceased in 2009. He also leaves to mourn his daughters Colette, Michelle (Paul), Françoise, (predeceased), Lucette and Chantal; his sons, Gilles (Annie), Bernard (Monique), Guy, Marc and Richard, He was a wonderful grandpa to Salix (Geneviève), Paul-Emile (Lili-Marion), Jacques, Florence, Kalliane, Cedric, Dominique, Lee, Jake, Zack, Jennifer, Alexandria, Isabella; and great-grandpa to Justine, Mederic and Leonie. Napoleon was born June 8, 1924 in Dunrea, Manitoba and farmed for the better part of his active life after studying agronomy under the Trappists of Oka, Québec. During those years he defended French language education, spearheaded the construction of a new elementary school and presided over the Dunrea Credit Union; he sat on school boards, church committees and oversaw with his very closest friends a church choir that warmed the hearts of all, especially when he sounded his smooth tenor voice. Afterwards, moving to St-Boniface, he worked for the archdiocese as operations manager, singing in the church choir with his favourite organist of many years, his wife Madeleine. Ever the man to invent and build, he was instrumental in developing equitable housing for seniors and the younger socially challenged with his brothers of the Knights of Columbus, an organization to which he belonged throughout his life and which is dedicated to the realization of the works of God. Napoleon - Nap or Poleon as friends called him - loved to dance, converse and play rummy with whoever could enjoy life's strange twists. Equipped with a wry sense of humour he was a fine sparring partner at any time of the day or night. His family and friends will be at a loss for comic relief. The family held a viewing and prayer evening on July 2; funeral services shall be held at the St-Boniface Cathedral, Friday, July 4 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Projet Renouveau de la Cathedrale, 190 avenue Cathedrale, Winnipeg, MB.
