BARBARA LILLIAN FLAMAND (nee THOMPSON) January 12, 1950 - June 28, 2014 It is with great sadness we are announcing the sudden passing of Barb Flamand. Barb spent most of her life in Fort Rouge attending La Verendrye, Earl Grey and Tec Voc schools. Barb was married to the love of her life for 41 years until his untimely passing June 20, 2009. Family was the most important thing to Barb, she devoted her life and love to her children: Sean (Barbie), Dolores, Jodi (Richie) and her most precious gifts, her grandchildren: Cole, Kamryn, Ryder, Jaxon, Lyndsey (Jon), Jodi (Keary) and Brendan. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Shyanne, Keenan, Parker and Gavin. Barb also leaves to mourn her brother, Don (Maureen) Thompson, sister and best friend, Marjorie Miller. Also her sister by choice, lifelong friend, Gale (Ron) Lussier and not to mention her countless in-laws, The Flamands. Barb had many special nieces and nephews who knew they could count on her for anything, she loved them dearly: Troy (Sheila) Thompson, Tiffany (Chris) Westdal, Jackie (Sam) Martin and Mike Miller. Along with all her wonderful great-nieces and nephews: Kryn, Madison, Abigail, Carter and Tyson. Barb was predeceased by her husband, Rob and her parents, Stan and Ruby Thompson and her sister, Patricia Niesler. Barb will be missed by her co-workers at Basstell and the children at Earl Grey lunch program. Barb had many wonderful friends at the Rockwood ANAF 303, where she was a member/volunteer. Much of her time was spent there dancing and laughing and winning us all the occasional roast! Barb's motto was "Love your family, keep them close. Live life to the fullest and dance like no one's watching!" Barb is loved and will be missed by many but will never be forgotten. We love you Mom, Nana, Auntie, Sister, Friend. Special thank you to all the staff in the I.C.U department at St. Boniface Hospital for all your care and concern. In keeping with Barb's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. A private family interment will take place at a later date. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald Street 204-253-5086 ejcoutu.com
