ROGER LIONEL JOSEPH MORISSETTE April 13, 1946 - June 30, 2014 After a courageous struggle with cancer, Roger peacefully fell to sleep. Survived by his wife, Linda, daughter, Tara, son, Kris (Katie), sisters, Laura (Aime) Meilleur, Beatrice (Jed) Mendella, and brother, Rheal (Rita) Morissette, and many friends and family members. Predeceased by his parents, Armand and Elizabeth Morissette, and his sisters, Aurise Pommer and Armande Berard. Roger was a loving dad and devoted husband with a smile that melted Linda's heart. A meat cutter for many years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, cycling, and nature. He was a loyal friend, and a worthy adversary had you chosen to slight him. His unfaltering generosity, quiet demeanour, and genuine spirit have infiltrated our very being and will be remembered forever. In lieu of flowers please give blood and donate to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. A funeral service celebrating Roger's life will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing one hour prior in Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald Street. Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Uncle Roger was one-in-a-million, so much like my own dad. He was always gentle, kind, and happy. Losing him has made such an deep hole in our lives. I'm very thankful for Aunty Linda, Kris, Tara, and Katie; when I'm with them uncle Roger doesn't feel SO far away. Everybody who knows him misses his great big laugh because it came from a wonderfully sincere place. Love you uncle! - Posted by: Lyne Morissette (neice) on: Oct 01, 2014

  • I worked with Roger at Safeway and at Lorette Marketplace. He was always a sweet man and we shared many laughs. His voice and laugh always reminded me of another dear friend who has passed, so I guess that's what I'll miss most about him. Rest in peace dear man - Posted by: Jodi Nault (friend) on: Jul 09, 2014

  • One of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. I worked with Roger at Safeway and he was always upbeat and ready to do whatever was asked of him. So sorry to hear of his passing. - Posted by: Gary Einarson (Ex coworker) on: Jul 05, 2014
