MARCELLA (SALLY) LEDOYEN (nee CHERLET) It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Marcella (Sally) Ledoyen, born on December 6, 1918, deceased, July 2, 2014 at Tache Centre. Mom has completed the final part of her journey and is now on her way to a better place. Left to cherish her memory are her five children: twins Magdeliene (Maggie) Nishimura and Margaret Préfontaine, son Ron Ledoyen (Yvonne) twins Lucille Ledoyen (Dale) and Cecille Thomas Moore; six grandsons and two granddaughters as well as several great-grandchildren. Her brother George Cherlet (Laurette), sister-in-law Rita Cherlet, along with several nieces and nephews also survive Sally. Mom was predeceased by her husband Adolphe as well as her two brothers and three sisters. When her daughters were young, mom developed her sewing skills making their dresses and taking great pride and joy in ironing and lining the dresses up along the cove woodwork in her home. For many years, mom owned and operated Sally's Diner in St. Boniface. She was well known for her expertise as a superb baker of pies and tarts. Sally never had idle hands and after the restaurant days she devoted her time to sewing and knitting for children. She took great pleasure in sewing a vast array of pajama pants for the Children's Hospital. On the same vein, she knit hundreds of mittens for children, as a result of passing a day care and seeing children with no mitts. We would like to express our gratitude to the wonderful caring staff of 4 ABC at the Taché Centre. In keeping with mom's wishes, mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 2:00 p.m in St. Bernadette's Roman Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Road. If so desired, donations may be made in her memory to the Actionmarguerite Foundation, 185 Despins Street R2H 9Z9 or to the Belgian Club Ladies Auxiliary 407 Provencher Blvd. R2H 0G9 "Mom until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand" The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. Dear Margaret, Maggie & Family. Your Mum was one of the sweetest people I have had the honour of taking care of. She always had a Cheshire-cat grin for me every morning when I greeted her. I will always remember her sparkling eyes. She knew-along with my Mum-that a smile always brightens someone's day-& does not cost a single cent! Her positive outlook will always remain with me. I will really miss her! Love, Ken RN - Posted by: Ken Blankstein-Ure (RN (4ABC)) on: Jul 09, 2014

Mes sincères condoléances Ron et Yvonne.........Wow quand j'ai vu son obit je m'ai dit "Elle avait le meilleur restaurant dans le temps que je travaillais au National Feeds. It just made my day to go for lunch there (pretty much every day) and enjoy the excellent food & all the SMILING staff that worked there. Sincere condolences to all of you. Your Mom was a very dear friend of my Mom's and a very strong support for all of us during my Dad's illness. I remember your Mom's phone calls early in the morning just checking to see how things were going. She would ask if my girls were getting new winter jackets and what colour they were. Shortly after, there would be two sets of beautifully knit hats, scarves and mitts for each of them. Our Moms are, no doubt, sitting together right now, having a cup of coffee and catching up on all the news. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time. Maggie and Margaret, we are so sorry for the loss of your precious mother. The loss of a mother is like losing the links in a chain. Nothing is the same afterwards. You are both in our prayers. Hugs Anita - Posted by: Anita and Ron Perron (School mates of Maggie and Margaret ) on: Jul 06, 2014

My thoughts and prayers are with you Maggie, siblings and family....I remember with delight, the many stories of your growing up in a big family and what skills and responsibilities you learned from your mother. She was a pillar ... I also can imagine the loss you are feeling ,though as you stated in the obituary, she is now on her new journey. May she rest in peace and may God give you strength , hope and courage during this difficult time. Blessings always, Liisa Nygard Johnson (and all my children whom you positively touched in their young lives) - Posted by: Liisa Nygard Johnson (Friend and former fellow employee) on: Jul 05, 2014
