JOSEPH (JOEY) DAVID CAIN May 1, 1962 - June 30, 2014 Peacefully on June 30, 2014, Joey Cain passed away after a short battle with cancer. Joey was predeceased by his parents Dick and Betty Cain. Survived by siblings Ruth Arnold (Bill), Janet Quintero (Ernie), Arthur (Holly), Richard (Shelly) and Cathy Mackay (Clayton) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Joey was raised at Winnipeg Beach and attended elementary school at Winnipeg Beach School and high school at Lord Selkirk Regional Comp. In his youth he enjoyed karate lessons and played league and recreational hockey for Winnipeg Beach and Gimli. Early in his career Joey along with his father was a volunteer ambulance driver for Gimli Hospital after which he drove for Selkirk Hospital Ambulance with his brother-in-law Ernie. During his life Joey was a long distance driver for both Arnold Brothers and Kleysen Group, he worked for CTN Telephone Supplies in Williams Lake, BC and at the weather station in Gimli and Uranium City, SK. Later he attended Red River Community College and became a certified commercial refrigeration mechanic. Special thanks to Dr. R. C. Patel, Cathy Pearson and the staff at Gimli Hospital.
