Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVICTOR WALTER GUSHTA October 29,1933 - July 9, 2014 Peacefully in his sleep on July 9 at the Selkirk General Hospital my loving husband and best friend left me. Victor was the son of Michael and Anna Gushta. Victor is survived by his wife Pat, stepson Brad (Barb), stepdaughter Judy (Alan), stepgrandchildren David (Chantel), Philip, Conner, Michelle (Tony) and great-stepgreat-grandson Sammy, who stole his heart from day one. He is also survived by his sisters Jeanette, Eva and Valerie, brother Albert and sister-in-law Anne and many many nieces and nephews and friends. Victor worked on heavy equipment most of his life. He retired from the RM of St. Clements in 2003. After he retired, Victor worked side by side with Pat in their huge garden and yard. He took pride in his work and home. He always said "If you're going to do a job, do it right". Victor did all he could to help out at the Libau Community Club. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014 at the grave side in the Libau East Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association Suite 200-310 Broadway Ave. Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0S6. Victor was a good man. He was always willing to help if you needed it or give advice. He had a vast knowledge of all things equipment related from farming to construction, and he loved to read about these as well. He also loved reading about history and how things were done in different countries. He also possessed an excellent memory. If you wanted to know how cold it was 10 years ago he was the guy to ask, or if you had a question about the local history or people he could fill you in. Whenever you entered his home you were welcomed warmly and when you left, you always had the feeling you were welcome to come back anytime. Victor was a good man and I will miss him but I know he will be in heaven watching over all his loved ones and will make us feel welcome when we get there too just as he did in his home. I will miss you big guy, Al - Posted by: al laing (stepson) on: Jul 14, 2014
