VIRGINIA (GINA) H. NAWORYNSKI July 2, 1947 - July 8, 2014 Gina passed away in her sleep at the age of 67 years. She had suffered a heart attack last year that led to a quadruple bypass. Life was not the same anymore. She had a very hard time healing and had started losing blood which started the blood transfusions. As the transfusions started happening more often, they had done more and more tests on her, soon diagnosing her with Multiple Myeloma. The cancer was aggressive and soon shut down her kidneys. She had dealt with dialysis, chemo and blood transfusions every couple days. She was high spirited despite what she had to go through. Gina was born to Anton and Helen (Mowchan) Schultz on July 2, 1947 in Beausejour, MB. She finished high school in 1963. On October 26, 1974 she married Joe Naworynski. They had one son Allan who was born on September 23, 1975. Just before Gina and Joe were to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary, Joe passed away, leaving her widowed at a young age. Gina was a loving and dedicated wife and mother, spending most all of her time with her and Joe's family. She was a very private person who kept most things to herself. She helped others out wherever she could. You could drop in anytime for coffee and find her house spotless as everything had its own place. She enjoyed going out to the beach, rides in the country. She went yearly, cemetery hopping, making her rounds to all of the families wherever they were laid to rest. Gina was predeceased by her parents Anton and Helen Schultz, her husband Joe Naworynski, her sister Sally Regula, and her brother Jim Schultz. She is survived by her only son Allan, sisters-in-law Mildred Schultz and Elsie Grzenda, brothers-in-law Bob Regula and Ken (Pat) Naworynski, and her nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre ward GA-4 for their kindness and compassionate care and Rita Olthof, extended family, for her middle of the night visits, her ongoing care and compassion, especially her calming ability. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium, 1800 Day Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gina's name to CancerCare Manitoba or the Kidney Foundation.
