ROBERT (BOB) MCDONALD With his family by his side, Robert "Bob" McDonald passed away on July 8, 2014, one day after his 80th birthday. Bob will be greatly missed by his wife of 50 years, Mona, and will remain forever in the hearts of his sons: Lee and Todd (Shume); daughter Lisa (Hector) Munoz, and his grandchildren Rafael, Joshua, Tyler, Jessica, Seth and Grace. Bob was predeceased by his parents Les and Geraldine McDonald, and his sister Elizabeth "Betty" Boyce. Bob enjoyed nearly 19 years of retirement from the City of Winnipeg (Parks and Recreation Arenas) and he especially enjoyed his numerous summers spent at "the lake" in St. Laurent. He was proud of his aboriginal ancestry, and happy each spring to raise his Metis flag on his property at the lake. Our dad was an uncomplicated man of few words, and content with living a simple life, on his own terms with few wants or needs. Heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses on the 6th floor of the St. Boniface Hospital for your care and compassion this past week. Cremation has taken place, a private family gathering is being planned. In lieu of flowers, our family asks that donations be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Five years have almost passed, the memories linger, we smile, recall the many memories made. As summer slowly approaches, thoughts gather of "The Lake", your favorite season...... Thinking about you, Dad..... - Posted by: Lee M. (Son) on: Apr 13, 2019

  • My thoughts are with you all as you go through this difficult time. I am truly sorry for your loss! - Posted by: Corin () on: Jul 21, 2014

  • You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Bob made me feel welcome into your family and treated me like one of his own right from the beginning. I never told him, but it meant everything to me. I know Tyler will miss his "silly grandpa" very much. - Posted by: Karen Montgomery () on: Jul 13, 2014
