Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Pearl was like a Grandmother to me. I'd know her since I moved to Eriksdale over 23 years ago. She was such a kind woman, and I was instantly attached the moment I met her. I remember going to see her every day after school just to visit and get my penny candies. I would help her with her yard or cleaning up the restaurant. She was a huge support when we lost my father, and we will always be grateful to have had her there. She was my biggest supporter whenever I had a fundraiser or figure skating event. Even after I moved to Winnipeg in 2002, I went to visit her as often as I could. I felt very special because no matter how bad her memory started to get, she remembered who I was and asked how I was doing whenever she saw my Mom with Lil. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. - Posted by: Charlotte Jessamine (Close friend) on: Jul 16, 2014

  • I am so very sad to learn of "Auntie" Pearl's passing. She was a good friend and a special Auntie to many. I will never forget the fun we had on many Christmas mornings, when Uncle Lyman and Auntie Pearl would show up at our house, with those "ten cent things" as a special treat for the kids in the Surgenor Family! Over the years, we have talked many times about those special memories! She was very special indeed. - Posted by: Karen Ritchie (Friend) on: Jul 15, 2014

  • I was sorry to hear that Aunt Pearl had passed. She always had a kind word and a way of making you feel good about yourself. My thoughts turned back to the days as a young man at the "Blue Grass Inn" picking through the bottle caps looking for that lucky cap that gave you a free bottle of Hires Root Beer. She will be missed greatly. - Posted by: Kevin Heroux (Nephew) on: Jul 15, 2014
