Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLINDA JEAN ROSS May 20, 1948 - July 12, 2014 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Jean Ross who, after a lengthy battle with pulmonary hypertension, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 12, 2014 with her family by her side. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, of 45 years, John; sons Jason and Darren (Leanne), and her treasured grandson Jaden. Linda is also remembered by her mother, Norma Ritchie, siblings Robert (Nori) Ritchie, Jill (Robert) Kalika, in-laws Doris and Fred Kriegl, Eileen and Alvin Kopeschny, aunts, uncles, and many nieces and nephews. Linda was predeceased by her father, James Gordon Ritchie, in-laws Dave and Iris Ross, and nephew Joseph Kriegl. Linda was born in Winnipeg to Gord and Norma Ritchie and moved to Transcona as a teenager, where she remained. She graduated from Transcona Collegiate, following which, mom had a long and successful career with the Toronto Dominion Bank. Mom loved many things: curling, family get-togethers during the holidays or at the lake, lunches with her friends, movie night with dad, trips to the States, attending her sons' hockey games, spending time with Jaden, and she loved to get together with her dear friends, the Fox's. With all that being said Linda was probably most happy puttering in her garden. Linda loved to show off and discuss all the different flowers, and how well her tomatoes were doing. We can remember her saying, the first thing she would try to save in the house in case of a fire, was her plants. Her empathetic heart was widely felt by all those close to her. Whether it was celebration or sadness, Linda truly felt alongside us all. Just because we cannot see you, does not mean that you are not here with us every day. We will love and remember you always. A memorial service will be held at Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium, 1800 Day St. at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2014. So sorry, we just learned about Linda we were unable to attend her celebration of life, our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family. TO John and Family, unfortunately I am not there to attention a funeral or celebration of life for Linda. She has struggled a very long time. Perhaps at peace now. I am very sorry for your loss and wish you my condolences John, to you and your family. I will always remember Linda for her Laughter. It was contagious. She will surely be missed.
