Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySARAH SUTTON Sarah Sutton, our mum and nana, went to be with her Lord on July 14, 2014 while receiving care at the Salem Personal Care Home in Winkler. Sarah Ellen Greener was born December 15, 1925 in the North of England. She served her country in the British Army, where she met Ben Sutton who also served during the Second World War. They married January 27, 1945. Together they raised three children: Mary, Shirley and Paul. Early in her married life, Sarah trusted the Lord Jesus as her personal Saviour. They left England to reside in Southern Ontario, then California and eventually settled in Portage la Prairie. Sarah proved to be strong willed, humorous and full of vim and vigor until the very end of her life. She will be forever remembered for her unconditional love and affection for family, for her zest for desserts, for knitting and ironing. We have each learned much from her that will guide us through our lives; love with all your being, keep up with your laundry, always serve dessert, and offer praise and thanks to God. Left to remember Sarah Sutton are Mary (Jim) Hayes, Shirley (Rob) Burney, and Paul Sutton; grandchildren: Ruth (Murray), Louise (Garry), Richard (Stephanie), Rachael (Adrian), Matthew (Bek), Jonathan (Rachel), Katherine and Benjamin; great-grandchildren: Nathan (Rita), Devon, Riley, Thomas, Cameron, Alyssa, Emily, Christopher, Lauren, Jamie, Owen and Walter; great-great-granddaughter Hayden, extended family and many close friends. A private family service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014. If friends so desire, memorial donations to the Salem Foundation, 165 Fifteenth Street, Winkler, MB R6W 1T8 would be appreciated.
