Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I had many laughs with Sandee when I taught with her at Westwood School in Thompson. She would pull me into her room at the end of the day and tell me all about the day's events offering her colorful commentary and insights. She always had a story to tell and her love of children was very obvious. I also had the opportunity to visit her in Baldur. She was very happy to have returned home for her retirement years. She will be missed. - Posted by: Karla Turton (Colleague and friend) on: Jul 21, 2014

  • My deepest sympathy to John and family and friends on Sandee's passing. I am a kindergarten teacher in Thompson, Manitoba and had the honour and privilege of working as a colleague of Sandee for 13 years. We used to have monthly meetings with all the kindergarten teachers in our district. Sandee was a huge part of this group sharing her laughter, teaching ideas and experiences and giving her support to others when needed. I transferred into her kindergarten position when she retired and was overwhelmed with her generosity and thankful for the materials and resources that she left in the classroom for me to use. My two children were fortunate to have Mrs. Rigaux as their kindergarten teacher and had the great start they needed for their school years. Good things do indeed come in small packages!! - Posted by: Cheryl Sorensen (teaching colleague of Sandee for 13 years in Thompson) on: Jul 19, 2014
