Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJUNE LOIS BOYD (nee THACK) Peacefully, after a brief illness, June passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014 in the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 77. June will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband of 55 years Gary, children Keith (Marla) and Susan (Michael) Paul, grandchildren Garett (Michelle), Brendan (Kathleen), Cameron (Jeanine), Corrina (Brett), Mitchell and Robbie. She will also be sadly missed by her sister Sylvia (Jack) Vorauer and her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Pauline Thack. Born in Gimli, June spent many happy summers working in Winnipeg Beach at her parent's cotton candy stand. She moved to Winnipeg and met the love of her life Gary while attending Daniel McIntyre Collegiate and they were later married in Vancouver in 1959. June held various administrative assistant positions over the years including U.B.C and the City of Winnipeg. She was the school secretary at Arthur Oliver School for many years. Family was very important to June and she enjoyed getting together for dinners and celebrations, teasing the grandchildren, playing cards and never went home without a doggie bag for Monty the resident pet at Lindenholm Place. Competitive by nature she was an avid 5 pin bowler, lawn bowler and bridge player and enjoyed going to the casino. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, July 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park", 1291 McGillivray Avenue. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Boniface Hospital, the Palliative Care team and home care workers who provided great care for her.
