Condolences & Memories (17 entries)

  • Knew Louanne when she was at General Wolfe School. She was like a big bubble of happiness. Her big beautiful eyes sparkled and she made everyone laugh, as she had a great sense of humour, Louanne was very attractive and knew how to dress to the 9's. She was very popular in school, I later met Louanne in Selkirk at the Salusbury house, she remembered me by image. She said "linda it is me Louanne", I could not believe she would recognize me after so many years, she told me she lived in the Selkirk Mental Hospital and she showed me her ID card, I went to visit Louanne there 4 or 5 Times. Then lost track of her because I was told she was in a group home now, Your sister was so sweet, she would offer me make up when I went to see her, she Spoke LARGE VOLUMES about her son. She loved her son deeply and was always concerned about his health and welfare. More memories too many to write. If there is such a thing as seeing someone when you die. I hope to see Louanne again with that big smile - Posted by: Linda Inkster (Friend ) on: Dec 02, 2015

  • My Louanne was extraordinary. And I am blessed to have called her my friend for over 50 years. She was strong in her convictions, amazingly creative, absolutely fearless, funny and caring. Her illness did not change the core of her. Even on her cloudy days, she often spoke that her brother and sister were the best. That was clear. My last visit with her in the hospital was with her sitting in the hospital singing You Are My Sunshine. And that she was. - Posted by: Dori Kufflick (Long time friend) on: Jul 23, 2014
