JOAO DIAS CARREIRO It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joao Dias Carreiro with his family by his side on July 20, 2014. He was predeceased by his parents Francisca de Jesus and José Américo and nine of his siblings. Joao was born in Livramento, S. Miguel-Açores and was a supervisor of a transportation company for over 20 years. Joao came to Winnipeg with his family in 1979. He was a man of deep faith, a dedicated family man with a strong work ethic, who helped many in need. He was always willing to listen to and provide counsel to those going through rough times. He made quite a difference in many lives. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 54 years, Isabel, his daughters Zelia (Gilberto), Laura (Gonçalo), Ana (Charles); grandchildren Emanuel, Sara, Kaylene, Talen and Tristan and his great-grandson Riley. He will also be missed by his sister Lurdes in Mississauga, sisters and brothers-in-law and 41 nieces and nephews. We would like to thank the staff at Grace Hospital's ICU particularly Dr. Kumar and Dr. Mooney. In Joao's memory donations may be made to the CancerCare. Prayers will be held Thursday, July 24 at 8:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 181 Austin Street, North. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, July 25, also at the church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Assumption Cemetery. God was always in your life and in your heart. Even though we will miss you every day we are comforted by the belief that we will meet again in the House of our Eternal Father. Descança em paz querido esposo, pai, avô, irmao e amigo.
