DOUGLAS JOSEPH CARSWELL (SR.) Suddenly but peacefully and surrounded by family, our father Doug Sr. passed away on July 17, 2014 at the Victoria Hospital. He will be remembered by his children Pat, Doug Jr. (Norma), Ann (Ralph MacDonald), Donald, Marion (Edith), David (Beverly) and Daniel; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will also be remembered by his sisters Jeanette (Gordon Boehner), Pat McDonald; brothers Ronald (Marion) and Phillip (Francis). He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Bernard and John. Dad was born October 24, 1934 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He always spoke fondly of his home and dreamed of returning there one day. In 1951 Dad joined the RCAF and proudly served until his retirement in 1981. Cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. We will always remember Dad as a man who always did it his way. He will be missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
