ROSE PIUSH 1915 - 2014 Peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Holy Family Home, Rose Piush, aged 98 years. Rose, the eldest of eight siblings, was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Point Douglas. After attending Norquay School, Mom worked very hard in various fields before finding her niche in catering. For over 40 years, she developed her skills and made many friends while honing her craft at the Town and Country, numerous synagogues, the Winnipeg Canoe Club and the Manitoba Club. Mom was also active in the Ukrainian Community, particularly in Seni Kravatka, the Shashkevich Hall, OYK, UNF Winnipeg Branch, and was a member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Nadine Yacheson (Nick), Ronald Piush (Dolores), Evelyn Piush; grandchildren, Donna Meyer (Jeff), Debra Yacheson (Bart Woodman), Jason Piush (Kelly Senkiw) estranged, Lisa McBride (Jeff), Jeff Piush (Candice), Dr. Natalka Manastersky (Slawko Pilipowicz), Tanya Manastersky; nine great-grandchildren; brother Stan Devanik; sister Joan Wilson; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Nick; son-in-law Roman Manastersky; two brothers, and three sisters. Mom's family meant the world to her. She was a loving, proud Baba to all her grandchildren and a super Great-Baba to her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed attending their concerts, was proud of all their accomplishments and never forgot a birthdate. Prayers will be sung 6:30 p.m., Monday, July 28 at Holy Trinity Metropolitan Cathedral, 1175 Main St. Funeral service will be held 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 29 also at the Cathedral. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Mom's memory may be made to Holy Family Home, Holy Trinity Cathedral or a charity of one's choice. Sincere thanks and gratitude is extended to Dr. Taras Babick and the staff on St. Mary's Ward, Holy Family Home for their sincere comfort and care. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-956-2193

Visiting with Rose when with Nadine was always an enjoyable time. She was a gracious hostess & we always shared laughs & experiences. The Piush/Yacheson family has a great bond strengthened by the love & joy Rose experienced through all of the family occassions & celebrations. Her cooking & entertaining skills were passed onto her daughters. Her legacies will live on but...she will be missed! - Posted by: Joanne Wilson & Konstantyn Trus (friend of the family) on: Jul 29, 2014
