DENIS DELPHIS MARION It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Denis on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Riverview Health Centre with family by his side, after a lengthy battle with Mesothelioma. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Brenda (nee Walberg) and daughters, Lisa (Bob Taylor), Monique, Colleen (Darcy Trudeau). He also leaves to mourn his grandchildren: Suzanne, Janelle, Daniel, Hailey, Ashton, Dominic and Adrianna. He will also be missed by his sister, Helen (Paul Seguin), brothers, Ron (Louise) and Gerry (Sheila), his aunt Doreen (Ray Knight) and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Marcel and Clarisse Marion. Denis was born in Winnipeg on May 12, 1944 and lived in St. Anne, MB and later moved to Winnipeg with his family. Denis worked as an electrician in the construction industry before becoming employed by the Provincial Government, Department of Government Services until his retirement in 2004. He was known for his many talents and skills; and was the go to guy for anything from restoring vehicles, to building, renovating and fixing just about anything that was broken. Denis was always there to lend a helping hand. Denis was known for his knowledge of all types of vehicles and was a great backyard mechanic. He enjoyed camping, road trips with the family, including all the adventures he went on with his grandchildren. During his retirement, he travelled throughout North America as well as, Europe and the Caribbean with his wife and friends. He was an active participant in his children and grandchildren's activities. Denis had a good sense of humour and always had a story or joke to tell. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and health care staff who took such wonderful care of Denis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Denis' memory to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation, One Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4 or to a charity of one's choice. In keeping with Denis' wishes, cremation has taken place and a funeral mass celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 @ 11:00 a.m. in St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Road, Winnipeg, MB with Father Fred Olds presiding.
