CARMINE GESUALDO Peacefully, with his family by his side, Carmine passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the age of 80. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 52 years, Filomena and his children Domenic (Simone), Alex and Terri; his brothers Rafaele (Vincenzina), Angelo (Enza), sister Melina (Domenico); his grandson Stephen Schmidt (Melissa) and two great-grandchildren Kylie and Marklyn. He will also be greatly missed by his numerous nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much. He was predeceased by his parents Domenico and Maria (Gaudio). Carmine was born in Lungro, Cosenza, Italy on July 16, 1934. He enrolled in the military at a young age and married the love of his life, Filomena on April 28, 1962. In search for a better life for his growing family, Carmine arrived in Canada in June 1966, where he worked construction for 10 years. He later worked in the Maintenance Department for the Seven Oaks General Hospital, and retired after 20 years of service. Carmine had a very strong work ethic and took great pride in both work and his family. He taught us the value of love, respect, and that family was everything. He had such great joy when his nieces and nephews would visit. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Palliative Care Program for always treating him with dignity and respect. We would also like to thank the pallbearers Ed Gesualdo, Jesse Gesualdo, Adam Hermann, Mike Hermann, Alessandro Cianni and Salvatore Toscano. Carmine left us with a legacy of generosity, integrity and value of family. Pa, you loved us with all your heart and soul. You gave us everything. We love you!! I was deeply saddened to read of Mr. Gesualdo's passing as a huge part of my childhood was spent growing up his Bannerman home where together with Mrs. "G"' I was treated as family and not just a neighbor's kid. His deafening whistle that called Dom and Alex home after dark forever echoes in my head and never ceases to bring a smile to my face whenever I hear parents shouting for their own children. Clearly he was loved and will be profoundly missed by family and friends but there is comfort in knowing that his memory will live on within those who knew this wonderful man. - Posted by: David & Susan Cicierski (Friend of the family) on: Aug 12, 2014

Zio was my very own personal "Handy Man" and I was your personal Administrative Secretary. You were always only i phone call away. I loved our time together and I will miss you terribly. But you will never be forgotten and always loved. - Posted by: Maria Garcea (Niece) on: Aug 09, 2014
