Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) P. HORODECKI 1923-2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather at the Arborg Personal Care Home on Thursday, August 7, 2014. He would have been 91 years old on October 4, 2014. Bill will be forever missed by his wife Helen (nee Zasitko); his sons Len (Leda), Danny (Susan), and Robbie (Irene); his grandchildren Lori (Everton), Kim (Daveen), Lyle (Laura), Billy, and Dustin (Jessie); his great-grandchildren Nathan, Kelsey, Lucas, Aiden, Max, Stella, Jordan, Carter, Haddin, Daniel, and Cordelia; his great-great-grandson Dreydon; his sisters Marion (late John), and Jean (Steve); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Bill was predeceased by his mother Olga, his father Philip, his brother Steve, his sister Helen, as well as nieces and nephews. Bill was born in Poplarfield and spent his early years on the family farm. He first attended Dehowa School in Poplarfield, and then continued his education in Teulon. Following that, he spent many years harvesting and logging. In 1945 Bill met his loving wife Helen, in Poplarfield, where they settled after marrying on November 6, 1946. Bill began working with the Department of Highways in 1952. He retired in 1980 from his position as resident engineer. Once retired, Bill enjoyed travelling as well as many hobbies, including carpentry, hunting, fishing, gardening, and playing the violin, accordion, and keyboard. Bill's fondest memories were, in his words, the birth of his three sons- he was always proud of their accomplishments. His greatest inspirations, in his words again, were his wife and his three sons. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Poplarfield Community Hall with Father Harry Chuckry officiating. In keeping with Dad's wishes cremation will take place after the funeral and a private family burial will take place at a later date. The Horodecki family thanks the doctors, nurses, and health care workers at the Arborg and District Health Centre and the Arborg Personal Care Home for the excellent care given to Bill during his lengthy stay. Love always, Bill, until we meet again, Helen To you, Dad, forever in our hearts, Len, Danny, and Robbie FISHER FUNERAL HOME INC. In care of arrangements. 204-372-6271 or 204-372-6803
