Una was a customer of ours at Shoppers. She came in almost every day and brought with her a ray of sunshine no matter what the weather was like outside. She knew what was happening in our lives and asked about our loved ones by name all the time. She spoke lovingly about her family and friends. She was like part of our family and we all miss her and talk about her all of the time. We just wanted her family to know how special we thought she was. - Posted by: Denise Earleen Connie Cheyenne (Friend) on: Oct 09, 2014

I was sorry to hear about Aunt Una's passing away. You always think you will drop in one day and never find the time. She was always so nice to us as children. She never criticized, judged or compared us so we felt good just to be ourselves. I am glad she was part of my growing up years. Karen Cook nee King - Posted by: Karen Cook (Niece) on: Sep 10, 2014

I am truly sorry for your loss ~ and we are so sad to see the passing of Mrs. King. I will never forget the love and support she gave myself and children. Justin thought of her as a grandmother and loved sitting outside with her many nights. She will remain forever in our hearts~ - Posted by: Tina (old neighbour) on: Aug 17, 2014

I recall meeting Mrs. King in the late 70's and she made me feel like I'd always known her. Cindy was a young mom, and I recall Mrs. King being a huge support to her & Tavis. RIP. - Posted by: Carol Crawford (former co-worker of Cindy's at Mandem) on: Aug 17, 2014

I first met the King family in 1974 when I became friends with Kim. Over the years I spent a number of occasions in the little kitchen in the house on Ashburn street sitting at the table and talking with Mrs King while I waited for Kim to get ready so we could go and play hockey or whatever we were going out to do. She was a great lady and those visits at the table with her will always remain in my memories as some of the best times. Chris and I would like to express our condolences to Kim, Nan, Cindy, and Tracy. - Posted by: Ken Collins (Friend) on: Aug 17, 2014
