Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySUREND CHOONIEDASS It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of Surend Chooniedass on Saturday, August 16, 2014. Surend was born on November 12, 1940, in Churkoo Village, Trinidad and Tobago. He married Ahalya in 1962 and immigrated to Canada, eventually settling down in Winnipeg. He worked at CIBC as manager of the Risk Management Division, where his unique attitude made him a popular co-worker and friend to many. After retiring from CIBC, he spent many happy years with his family and those who loved him most. He will always be remembered as an accomplished West Indian cook, competitive all fours player, relentless golfer and was always happy to be liming with his friends and family. He extended hospitality to all those around him, and never missed an opportunity to enjoy life. He was extremely proud of his family and his children Avi (Shilpa) and Rishma (Anthony). He worked and lived to provide his family a good life, and he was successful in this by anyone's standards. The last eight years brought him a special new joy with his granddaughter Asha, who he loved beyond words. He will be missed but never forgotten by all those who knew and loved him. Surend treasured his large family and will be especially missed by his many siblings; the late Sudesh (Rajpatee), Mahase (Vashti), Radika (Shawn), Prakash (Bhallah), Rajin (June), Ashram (Rose), Renuika (Frankie), Pamela and their families, as well as Moti (Germaine), Shanti (Danny) and their families. There are not enough words or space in this entire paper to list all the family members that loved and will miss him. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 20, at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard, with reception to follow. If happiness is the measure of success, then Surend left this world successful beyond his wildest dreams. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com
