JORDAN BRITTANY MARIE LAVERDURE It is with profound sadness that Jordan's family announces the sudden passing of Jordan in the early evening of August 14, 2014 held in the loving arms of her parents and surrounded by many of those who loved her. From the moment she was born on October 1, 1990 she faced many health challenges with courage, stubbornness, laughter and her own wonderfully large and unique personality. Jordan attended Bernie Wolfe School, Gordon Bell High School and graduated from Murdoch McKay Collegiate Institute. Several years ago she received a Yes I can!' award. Most recently she was attending Imagine Ability. Jordan taught us many lessons by example in her short life. There is joy in the simple activities of daily life, to be present in each moment, to know our own minds, to be loving in all that we do and that we all can be princesses. Some of Jordan's favourite things include the color purple, salt and vinegar chips, Pepsi, Avon catalogues, animals, eating spicy foods with her Mom, providing Dad with kisses (a lick up his cheek) and spending time with her siblings, nephews and niece. All things Disney were special and she spent many happy hours watching Disney movies. A cherished family memory is the trip to Disneyland thanks to the generosity of the Make a Wish Foundation. Pictures of the trip always brought an excited and happy response from Jordan. She was a girly girl' and always enjoyed being pampered, having her nails done and wearing pretty outfits. Jordan was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Lorenz and Sonja Rudolph and her paternal grandmother Florence Laverdure. She is survived by her parents Dave and Sherry Laverdure; her siblings Brady, Tanner (Tamara), and Drake; her nephews Seth, Xhavier and Benjamin; her niece Cherish; grandfather and step-grandmother Bill and Cheryl Laverdure; step-grandfather Eloi Turbide; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. The family would like to thank Dr. C. Greenberg and Dr. A. Caplan for the care they provided to Jordan throughout her life. Special thanks to Mandy Bruce, Charlene Bergen, Sharlene Keenas, Cheryl Hauk, and Mrs. Grantham for all the support you provided to Jordan. Thank you to Dr. Bell and Dr. Smith and the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital ICU for the care provided to Jordan and your support to the family during this difficult time. A celebration of Jordan's life will be held Friday, August 22, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium, 1800 Day Street. The family requests that those in attendance wear purple if you are able. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Make a Wish Foundation in Jordan's name would be appreciated.
