Lil ... I am so sorry that I did not know of Alex's condition nor of his passing. Not on Facebook and was in BC. I wish I could be next door to you to give you support when you need a friend. Know that my heart breaks for you and James especially. I do believe in angels with all my heart and I know you will feel his presence and see the signs he will leave for you. You have always been protective of your boys and a good mom. Sending you my love and sympathy. XO - Posted by: Mariette Meilleur-Evans (Friend) on: Sep 13, 2014

Lil and family. My deepest condolences to you. I was shocked to learn of Alex's passing. Alex spent many hours at our house with Robby as they were growing up. Alex was like another son in our home. He was always a very respectful young man, and always the "gentle giant" even when he was a teen. At one time, the boys were inseparable and the summer that Alex was in hospital, Robby would often spend his days there keeping Alex company. I'm glad they were there for each other as they were growing up and their friendship enriched both their lives. I cannot imagine the pain you are going through, and my prayers are with you all. A few years ago, I worked for a short time with Alex, and we shared a love of science fiction, and Marvel Heroes. I was so happy when he left our company for "bigger, and better things". In the short time I knew him, he left a lasting impression on me. It was a shock to hear of his passing. May God help family and friends to find peace. - Posted by: Patricia Williams (former co-worker) on: Aug 28, 2014

I met Alex when I was 13 and he was 14 through our Moms. I will always remember Alex for his sense of humor, huge heart, big cheesy grin he would have on his face when he tried to scare me, and love of wearing shorts in the cold. He was the type of person who would stand up for you and protect you. Alex came to youth group for a few years and was always fun having him come on our retreats. The world will definitely be missing one amazing guy, but heaven has gained. I will miss you Alex! Until we meet again, Ashley. - Posted by: Ashley Reid (Friend) on: Aug 25, 2014

Hey #1 you have taught so much, gone on so many adventures with me, and never once complained when the going got tough. I am thankful for the 14 months we had between your first surgery and your last. I know we would not have had that time if your brother hadn't got you to the hospital, Dr. Ratana didn't follow his "hunch" and the surgeons and staff, that include Dr. Singal, and a host of others, were able to perform a miracle. I will miss our talks, road trips, shopping and time together. I know you are out of pain and I can feel your arms around me when the tears flow like rain. Love you sunshine. And yes I will let Kenny take care of me, I can't promise "not to get wound up"! - Posted by: Lil (Mom) on: Aug 23, 2014

Alex, words can not express how much I love you big guy. Nothing in this world could compare to a hug from you. You were only a few weeks older then I am and you would always remind me of that because it meant you were wiser and knew more....lol Growing up with you has been a joy and I will miss our conversations. Even though as we got older the talks didn't happen as often, when they did we sure had some great laughs. Until we meet again Big Cuz - Posted by: Candice Lion (Cousin) on: Aug 22, 2014
