THERESE MARIE CECILE LACLARE July 1, 1941 - August 23, 2014 Peacefully with courage and poise, Therese LaClare passed away of cancer at the age of 73 years at Seven Oaks Hospital. She is survived, missed and loved by her son Mark LaClare (Candida), granddaughter Emily, her brother Leo LaClare (Louise), sisters Bernice Walker, Vivianne Stoneham (Harold), Marie Taplin (George), Nicky Hrynick (David); brother-in-law John Sydorko; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, friends and former co-workers. Predeceased by her parents Leopold and Jeanne LaClare; sister Camille Sydorko and nephew Louis LaClare. Therese was born in Edam, Saskatchewan. She was fun loving and had many fond memories of colleagues, co-workers, friends and family. She was fiercely independent and was proud to have lived life her way. A single parent at a time when that was not common. She had many occupations with long term tenures as a hairstylist at several salons and as head dispatch clerk with the T. Eaton Co. Her fondest memories included baking, cooking and playing with her special sunshine girl Emily. The family would like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion, especially Dr. Finlayson, RN Karis and her favourite nurse Candace. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, August 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 4588 Roblin Blvd. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue West.
