AMBROSE MERVIN FONTAINE (Makwa Oshkajeen - Bear Claw) December 25, 1945 - August 25, 2014 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved brother, uncle, cousin, mishoom and friend Ambrose Mervin Fontaine on August 25, 2014. Peacefully, with family at his side, Ambrose passed away in the loving arms of Jesus at his home he resided in with his niece Angela Swampy (caregiver). He was very fond of Angela's husband Jilmar and children, he took them as his own grandchildren, Melissa (Gerret), Olivia (Rosa), Prairie Dawn (Miguel), Danzal, Emilio, and Nicholas and his great-grandchildren Seren and Darius. Ambrose is also survived by his sisters Lillian (Stanford) Fontaine, Sandra (Dennis) Swampy, Freda Bear and brother Norman (Verdine) Fontaine. He was predeceased by his parents Joe Gus and Irene Fontaine, brothers Douglas, Howard, John, Alphonse, Frank and George, sisters Madeline and Josephine. He spent part of his life with Olive and John Guimond, whom he will be reunited with in Heaven. He is also survived by Paul (Kim) Guimond and Sarah Swampy. He resided with Sarah and the late Ronald Swampy for six years. We have many cherished memories of growing up with Ambrose. Wake services began on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at the St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church Hall, Sagkeeng First Nation, Manitoba. Funeral service will follow on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. We would like to say a special thanks to the Palliative Care Team: Ola, Carrie and Jennifer for the wonderful care, also to the home care team Andrew and Dave.
