I met Al's son Brett and Penny and their children through sports. We quickly become close friends and I was astonished at what an amazing family they were. And then I met Al and Esther and it all made sense. Al was an incredible man who was a role model for his grandchildren and was deeply involved in their lives. He brought a smile to my face every time I saw him and I always looked forward to it. His spirit will live on in the grandchildren he was so very proud of. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Sean Savage ((family friend)) on: Sep 05, 2014

Our deepest condolances to all the Lesperance family. We had the good fortune to meet Al while he attended the sports games, practices, and tournaments of his grandchildren. He was in a class of his own when it came to being engaged in his granchildren's lives. He had his email address on all the fan out lists to keep abreast of the various activities of his grandchildren and plan his own schedule. An impressive fan..... a really proud grandfather. RIP Al you will be missed. Ian, Linda, Kenyon, and Mark - Posted by: Linda, Ian, Mark and Kenyon Davidson (Friend) on: Sep 04, 2014

Al and I go back to childhood days. Even though we lived in different towns we did manage to see each other fairly often. As adults, we shared time in the early Navy and even managed to share a weekend in Pearl Harbour and Honolulu while he was on the Ontario and I was on the Antigonish. We didn't see each other for a number until after we were both married. In later years while following his grand children around as they played their various sports we got to see him more often. He was a warm and humourous guy and exceptional family man and a god send to his sisters and nephew Ken. Our deepest condolences to Esther, Jolie and Bret, in-laws and grandchildren. All of us will miss him sorely. All our love to you all, Pat & Chuck Lesperance - Posted by: Charles Lesperance (Cousin) on: Sep 02, 2014

I know Al from when he's at the rink watching his grandchildren play hockey. Al was a great guy to be around at the rink, never scared to voice his opinion. Al was especially fun to be around after the games. I don't know if Al enjoyed anything more than watching all his grandchildren playing sports. - Posted by: Steven K. I know Al from watching his grandsons (Connor and Drake)play hockey. I don't know if Al enjoyed anything more than to watch all of his grandchildren play sports. Al was a whole lot of fun to be around at the games but especially after the games. Rest in Peace - Posted by: Steven K. Sinclair (Friend) on: Sep 02, 2014

Our heartfelt condolences to the Lesperance family, we have had the pleasure of meeting up with Al at many hockey rinks and football fields over the years as he cheered on his grandchildren. Had many great conversations with him. We knew him as a kind man with a great love for his family, so sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Tom & Cindy D'Amico () on: Sep 02, 2014

My wife and I wanted to extend our deepest condolences to the family. I remember many memorable summers at the cottage community with Al and family. Always positive and lived life to the fullest. You will be missed Al. - Posted by: Mike Ducharme (Family Friend) on: Sep 02, 2014
