Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD PATRICK HAMMOND II With sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Patrick Hammond II of Winnipeg, Manitoba on August 28, 2014. After battling through cancer, he had succumbed to complications from advanced COPD at Victoria General Hospital surrounded by loved ones. Predeceased by his parents Anne and Richard, he will be lovingly remembered by Richard (son), Belinda (daughter), Layla and Ellie (granddaughters), Roisin and Frances (aunts), Betty, Roisin, Tommy, Pat, Noel, Chris and Terry (cousins), and extended family. Richard will also be remembered by all of his friends, including his childhood friend Ed who helped him through his most difficult times, and shared in his best times. A celebration of his life will be held at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard, on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m., with reception to follow. It is with deep sadness on hearing of the passing of Richard. I knew Richard through the Irish Tavern Singers in Winnipeg, Canada. Richard was a great musician and loved the Irish scene. Richard taught me many things in the playing of instruments in the group, what a talent he had. He will be sadly missed.
