EVAN WALLACE EVERETT It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of a husband, father and friend. Evan went peacefully at home, with family at his side, on September 4, 2014. Evan was born in Gimli, MB on September 17, 1960. He was predeceased by his mother Madeline Barker, grandparents Fred and Runa Everett, Grandma Julia Johnson, and in-laws Pellegrino and Anna-Maria Santorelli. Evan met the love of his life, Fanny, in 1976 and was married in November of 1981. His family was then made complete with the birth of their children, Anna-Maria and Evan Jr. Evan and Fanny raised their family in Winnipeg sharing 33 happy years of marriage. Their home always had room for everyone and more. Above all else, Evan's greatest love and first priority was his family. Evan's other love was for cars, Camaros being his favourite. He lovingly restored his 1970 ½ Z28 Camaro, from a burnt out husk of a car, to showroom quality. If he was not in his garage working on one of his cars, he was always helping others. Evan was generous with his time with friends and family, he would never say no, and his honesty and kindness touched so many lives. He was legendary for his calm and friendly demeanor. Evan will always be remembered for the glint in his eye, his smile and chuckle; he was one of a kind. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Left to mourn his passing is his wife Fanny (Filomena); daughter Anna-Maria; son Evan Jr.; father Wally (Marie) Everett; sisters Laurie Everett, and Angela (Kevin) Everett; sister-in-law Rose Santorelli; nieces Madi and Alex; nephews Chris, Nick, Teddy and Blaine; as well as many friends and co-workers. A celebration of Evan's life will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor Ave. The Everett's would like to express their sincere gratitude to all their friends and family for the support through this difficult time. A big thank you to Dr. Permack, Health Sciences Centre CancerCare and the Palliative Care staff for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to CancerCare or the Lung Association. My Evan Together on the road of life, we experienced love that only few people in this world get to experience. We walked hand in hand through good and rough times. Now you have parted to the road to Heaven. Our souls are combined forever. Love you forever. Fanny xoxo Dad - Words cannot express how much we love and will miss you. Nothing changes...still our inspiration. Our idol, our superhero!! Love Anna and Jr. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

  • So sad to read of Evan's passing. I too had only positive interaction at PWGSC with Evan. When called he was always right there to fix or explain what was going on with my computer and never once blamed my ignorance on the problem. Always the total "gentleman" and always a smile. My heart goes out to his family and his fellow colleagues who will truly miss him. Rosemary Wylie - Posted by: Rosemary Wylie (Former colleague) on: Sep 09, 2014

  • May all of Evan's loved ones find comfort in the Lord during this most difficult and sorrowful time. There is an endless list of qualities that Evan had and continually displayed no matter who he was with at the time: kindness, took time to listen and to be with others, always helpful, cheery, winsome smile, sense of humor, gentleness, humility, very client service oriented always striving to provide the best support he could, honest, hard working, a loving husband and father, etc. May you (Fanny, Anna, Evan Jr) be flooded with fond and cherishing memories of your dear husband and Dad --- he will be greatly missed by you and many others. - Posted by: Don Reeve (Co-worker) on: Sep 09, 2014

  • I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing away of Evan Everett. Evan and I spoke a number of times over telephone/email for work related issues and each time he came across as a caring person who genuinely wanted to help. While on a work trip a couple of years ago, I was fortunate enough to meet him in person and really enjoyed the time we worked together. Losing a loved one is always tough and especially when the person is as caring as Evan. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Evan's family. We'll most definitely miss his caring personality, his positive attitude and his smile. - Posted by: Zeeshan Zaidi (Co-Worker) on: Sep 09, 2014
