I just wanted to remember Bob today. I was a student at ESOMS when I met him, and I was struggling with a lot of things... Bob listened to me and made me feel like I actually deserved to be listened to. For that I am forever thankful. Much love to his relatives and those who carry his memory. - Posted by: Carter (Friend) on: Sep 11, 2019

I was new to ESOMS Staff, hence I stayed at the School often very late. For the short amount of time that I knew Bob, he made my evenings a lot brighter. He was so positive and often cheered me up after a tough day. We would have evening chats about our days, and he was good company. Bob was always around, he was such a genuinely kind man. I am going to miss him dearly. Rest in Peace Bob. Never forgotten. - Posted by: Jalin Desloges (ESOMS Staff) on: Sep 23, 2014

Bob had a wonderful way of making people feel special. He used to come into rehearsals after school, listen to the kids making music, encourage them, and sing for us. He had a really beautiful voice and he was a great teacher. The lesson he taught me is that we basically have two choices in life.... To join in and contribute (as he did) or to live only for ourselves. I am so grateful that he was so generous with his life and his love. - Posted by: Barb (Friend) on: Sep 20, 2014

Knowing Bob through Seven Oaks, I am sorry to say that we lost an amazing person. Bob has never had anything but a positive and happy outlook which he was always willing to share with others. I have to say I will miss seeing him as I pass by in the bus while he was on his way to work. He ALWAYS waved and smiled! Having run into Bob while shopping one time, he introduced me to his wife with glowing admiration that was plain to see. I am sure his loss is beyond measure. - Posted by: Karen B. I enjoyed working with Bob at Maples Collegiate! Bob was a great person to work with! He was always very helpful, reliable and dependable! Bob always talked about his articles that he wrote on science fiction. He let me read some of his articles and I thought they were really good! Bob and Wendy always helped out at our union Christmas social. Christine and I will miss his cheerful personality. Our sincere condolences to the Doyle Family. - Posted by: Doug & Christine Krahn (co-worker) on: Sep 19, 2014

Met Bob while working at Leila North School many years ago. Bob could always make you laugh with his stories and jokes. I had the privilege of reading some of the short stories he wrote, which I totally enjoyed. Bob was very smart, if you were in a trivia contest, he would be the partner to have. The last time Brad and I hung out with Bob and Wendy, we never played pool or cards, we sat around the kitchen table, talking and laughing. Wendy, Bob was an amazing person and will be missed by everyone who knew him. Rest in Peace, Bob! - Posted by: Brad & Kathy (Friends) on: Sep 19, 2014

Bob was a great co-worker and friend, I met Bob and his wife, Wendy 15 years ago, we lived in the same apartment block, he was looking for work. I told him to apply at 7 oaks school div, three months later he was working with all of us at the school div. He always had good jokes to tell, and he is very kind hearted and is always helping others. He will be sadly missed. S. Gillies - Posted by: shelley.gillies (co-worker and friend) on: Sep 18, 2014

Bob was a generous individual and took personal time to read his short stories to my grade 8 students. He was humble and caring. he took time everyday to check in with everyone who crossed his path. This was an email that Bob sent to my students last June. I believe this encapsulates the kind individual that he was. From: Robert Doyle Sent: June-24-14 5:55 PM To: sheri.courchene@7oaks.org Subject: for your students Hi Guys. I bet you all thought I forgot all about you, and my response to that is Not a chance in Hell!!! I would love nothing more than to speak to you and deliver this to you all personally, but unfortunately that isn't possible, and I will not be back at ESOMS before the end of the school year. I would like to thank Miss Sherri for asking me and allowing me to read to all of you during the school year, and of course many thanks to each and every one of you for letting me come in and take a step into your world. I for one had a blast letting you take a step into mine. The card you sent me was worth more to me than all the tea in China, and every time i look at it, the heart will remember with fondness. I'm going to miss you all. Please remember that every great dream begins with a dreamer, and you all have within you the strength, the patience and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. I wish you all a great Summer and all the best as you move into High School. Bob p/s...... You guys are bloody awesome !!!!!! It was an honor knowing you! Wendy: I don't know you, but I have never met a man so in LOVE with his wife. He spoke respectfully and called you a Saint! You were truly his treasure. Wendy, We are so, so sorry for your loss. Bob never failed to make us laugh at the AGM with one of his goofy jokes. He was a pleasure to watch on the dance floor, and always had a smile for everyone he came in contact with. He will be missed. - Posted by: Brent Millar (Friend) on: Sep 18, 2014
