GEORGE DECLERCQ November 26, 1928 - September 18, 2014 It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our loving husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Alice, children; Ron (Louise), Don (Mary), Laurie, Charlene (Ian), grandchildren; Jennifer (Anthony), Jason (Tiffany), Ryan (Lisa), Tammy (Greg), Derrick (Kendra), Tyler, Alyssa, great-grandchildren; Jordin, Drew, Blake, Jenna, and many nephews and nieces. George was predeceased by his brother Roger, and sister Alice. Dad was born and raised in St. Boniface, where he started off his career as a mechanic and retired with Petro Canada. But most of all dad was a family man. He enjoyed camping in the early days and later on the cottage at Bayshore Heights. He loved spending time with his family playing cards, sitting around the fire or going for long walks. He was a huge sports fan and especially followed the Blue Jays, Goldeyes, Bombers, and Jets. Thank you for the compassion shown from the staff of Victoria Hospital 4N during dad's last days. We would also like to thank the staff at Golden Door, who were all so wonderful with Dad for the last 19 months. In keeping with George's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. We will all miss him more than any words can say. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald Street 204-253-5086 ejcoutu.com
