HIRONDINA MEDEIROS Peacefully, Hirondina passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at the Seven Oaks General Hospital at the age of 88 years. Hirondina is survived by her son José Martinho Medeiros (Emilia) and two granddaughters: Grace Medeiros (Paulo) and Elsie Medeiros (Robin). She was the aunt and godmother of Rev. Fr. José Eduardo Medeiros. She was predeceased by her husband José Martinho, parents Luis de Medeiros and Maria da Luz Ferreira as well as brothers and sister, Manuel Medeiros, Luis de Medeiros and Maria do Espirito Santo Silva. She was born in Mosteiros, S. Miguel, Azores on June 21, 1926. She immigrated to Canada in 1974 with her son, and worked at Tundra Factory for 19 years. Faith and family were most important to her. She was a member of the Fraternity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. A prayer service will be held on Friday, September 26 at 8:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St., Mass and Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 27 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Church with Rev. Fathers José Eduardo Medeiros and André Lico officiating. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
