Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONAVAN WILFRED ANDRES BAUMING September 13, 1941 - September 23, 2014 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Don Bauming on September 23, 2014 at the St. Boniface Hospital. He is survived by his wife Betty and four children, Dale (Sonia) of Lorette, Sherry (Tim) of Russell, Raymond (Carrie) of Winnipeg and Leah (Ray) of St. Pierre Jolys. He will also be sadly missed by his five grandchildren Dustin, Allexia, Cole, Grant and Brayden. Don was born and raised on a small farm near McNutt, SK. He came to Winnipeg at a young age and began working at Curtis Tire. He was a Jack of all Trades and over the years worked at many jobs - all hard work. To name a few, he was Boiler Maker by trade, welded for Acme Welding and Quality Welding, owned and operated the Twin Lantern Restaurant in Lorette with his wife, Betty, worked for Manitoba Highways and installed cabinets for Emerald Cabinets. He made a lasting impression on many of the people that he worked with and formed many lifelong friendships with his co-workers. Don loved to socialize with his friends and always had a cold drink ready for anyone who popped by. Don was always willing to lend a hand or help out a friend. He was the guy that you called when you were stuck in the ditch or needed help fixing something. He had a great sense of humour and loved a good joke. In 2000, his dream came true when he was able to purchase a cabin in St. Malo. He was able to spend his retirement at the cabin and cherished his time there as he was an avid outdoorsman. Don was also an animal lover and will be dearly missed by his cat, Baby. In his last years, Don and his wife had moved to St. Pierre Jolys, where you would often see him putting around town on his scooter. As per Don's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be at Leah and Ray's residence in St. Pierre Jolys (434 Jolys Ave. West) for family and friends on October 4, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Don's name to a charity of your choice. So sorry to hear of Mr. Bauming's passing. Don, Betty and Leah took me in, in '97, and was always good to me. His lawn cutting shorts were the best. Take care, Baumings. - Posted by: Darcie () on: Sep 27, 2014

Frank remembers hanging out with Don when he worked for one of his neighbors. He remembers him as a fun-loving guy who always had a good time. We were pleased to visit with him at the cabin and at Irene Schaan's birthday. We extend our heartfelt sympathy. - Posted by: Frank and Judy Becker, MacNutt,SK (Second cousin and teenage buddies) on: Sep 27, 2014
