HELEN SEILER (nee MARKEWICH) June 18, 1926 - September 27, 2014 With broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of our Mother and Baba, Helen on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at home in West St. Paul. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted children Freda (Leo), grandsons Gianni and Dano; Albert Jr. (Jo-Anne), grandchildren Lee, Kerrie and Kaylan; Irene Seiler of Calgary; Linda (Juergen), grandchildren Elza and Hans of Auburn, Washington; and stepdaughter June Lawrence (Gerry). Also mourning are her sister Julia Hlopina, sisters-in-law Rose Markewich and Cecile Markewich of BC, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Helen was predeceased by her husband Albert in 1979, her mother Hafia, and her father Stephan, sisters Natalie and Mary, and brothers Joe, Roman and Nestor. Helen lived life fully, enjoying gardening, crafts, baking, visiting friends and travelling. She wanted no one to fuss, only to share in the fun. Each of Helen's children, their spouses, and grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Mom will be so greatly missed and lovingly remembered forever. Thank you to Dr. Verrelli for his years of excellent compassionate care. Thank you to Dr. Tran for her kind and friendly care. Thanks to Pastor Lynne Hutchinson for kindly saying farewell prayers for Mom. Thanks to Jackie, the nurse at Seven Oaks, for her caring attendance to our family in our time of grief. A memorial service celebrating Helen's life will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Mike Knysh, Funeral Director, in charge of arrangements. If friends so wish, donations may be made in Helen's name to St. Boniface Hospital Foundation. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no on can steal"

My deepest sympathy to the Seiler family. Helen was a very good friend to me when we lived in West St. Paul. We enjoyed similar hobbies and shared may laughs together. She was a lovely lady and will surely be missed. Sincerely, Stella Mazur - Posted by: Stella Mazur (Family Friend) on: Oct 03, 2014

Dear Irene, Sonny, Freda & Linda, My heartfelt and deepest sympathy go out to you and your loved ones during this very sad time of the loss of your Mother. Although it has been many years since I last saw your Mom, she was the type of person one cannot forget. I have always remembered her as a very kind, fun loving spirit who would always bring a smile to my face back in the days of West St. Paul. You've been blessed by having her as your Mom, she truly was a wonderful lady. Sincerely, Debbie Mazur - Posted by: Debbie Mazur (Family Friend) on: Oct 03, 2014

Irene, Freda & families: Will be thinking of you today as you celebrate Helen's life and the legacy she has left. We too will be remembering her cute little laugh and the laughs we shared over our Thanksgiving dinner here in NS several years ago. Your memories will sustain you so keep them close. She died peacefully and with family by her side. Holiday dinners at Jo-Anne's will not be the same without her there with her well matched outfits and wonderful homemade buns. She was a wonderful person who loved to be around family. She shared a very special bond with her grandchildren who very devoted to her. She will be missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing her. Our thoughts are with you all. - Posted by: Laurie and Terry Frovich (Extended family) on: Oct 02, 2014

To Freda, our heartfelt condolences. You had a special mother/daughter relationship like Lori did with her mom. It is something to cherish always. Our sympathies go out to Leo, Gianni, and Dano and the rest of your family. - Posted by: Lori and Dain Lanouette (Neighbours) on: Oct 02, 2014

My grandmother, "Baba" knitted many sweaters for me. My favorite was the one with the dinosaur on it. I also like the Christmas Choo Choo train she made for me too in needlepoint. When she was making all the needlepoint furniture this past summer, I said, "you should probably make a house to put all this into". That is when she pulled out the front of the house that she was working on and showed me! I love you Baba. Love Hans - Posted by: Hans Gietz (grandson) on: Oct 01, 2014

Baba always sewed beautiful clothes for me to wear like my Samantha dress. She made a needlepoint teaset for me this summer. I have many lovely things to miss her by, but mostly I will miss her hug. I know you are watching over me in Heaven. LOVE always your granddaughter Elza Leyna. - Posted by: Elza Gietz (Granddaughter) on: Oct 01, 2014
