Born: Dec 22, 1922
Date of Passing: Sep 25, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET HORVATH Peacefully, on September 25, 2014, surrounded by her loving family, Margaret entered eternal peace at the age of 91, and took God's hands and was finally freed from all pain and suffering. Our dear mother and grandmother's strong will to live carried her through many months of struggles. The family wishes to offer their heartfelt thanks to Dr. George Balko and the caring and compassionate staff of St. Boniface Hospital over the last several months. We were also grateful to the caring staff at Concordia Hospital where Margaret spent several weeks. Margaret was born on December 22, 1922 in Erdei, Romania. She met her husband, George, in Budapest, Hungary and moved to Paris in 1957 after the Second World War. They both immigrated, along with their baby daughter, Irma, to Canada and began their humble life in Winnipeg. Margaret will forever be lovingly remembered by her son, George; daughter Irma (Michael), grandchildren, Jennifer, Vanessa, and Ryan; daughter Nellie Hever Horvath (late Laszlo), grandchild Gyuri (Petra) and great-grandchild on the way; and numerous extended families in Romania and Hungary. Margaret was predeceased by a brother in 1929 and her husband and our father, George, in 1997. Their appreciation for music and theatre was a hobby but the love of their children and beautiful grandchildren was their passion. "Don't grieve for me for now I'm free. I'm following the path God laid for me. When I heard God's call I begun my journey, and took my last breath and left you all". A private family service was held at 11:00 a.m. on October 1, 2014 at "Thomson in the Park" Funeral Home with Rev. Geza Szemok officiating prayers. The family wishes to thank many friends and family for the beautiful flowers and expressions of sympathy. Donations may be made to the charity of choice but the greatest gift of all is to remember to tell your Mom how much you love her and care!
