MICHAEL TWOHIG On October 5, 2014 our dear Mike passed away at the age of 91 after living a full life. Mike was blessed with a healthy life to share with family and friends. He was born in Kilbrittain, County Cork, Ireland to parents Mary and Jermiah and was the youngest of seven children. Mike ventured into the world working in southern Australia for 10 years at the Woomera Rocket Range. He immigrated to Canada on October 10, 1957. In Canada, Mike worked on Vancouver Island for several years and then moved to Thompson to work at INCO Mining Company. He then moved to Winnipeg and worked for Dominion Bridge until his retirement. He was always a hard worker and believed in the value of putting in your time and doing things right. In Winnipeg, Mike met and married the love of his life, Tillie and embraced her children and loved them like his own. When grandchildren arrived, he played an active role in their upbringing where he instilled the values that they still carry on. During his retirement years, Mike enjoyed long walks, spending time with his grandchildren, gardening, watching TV and feeding the birds. He always had an incredibly sharp mind and was up to date on world issues. Anything you wanted to know, you would just ask Mike. Mike is survived by his wife Tillie, stepchildren Janice (Ed), Mark, Doug (Jackie), grandchildren Tammy, Jason and Samantha, great-grandchildren Destiny and Cali and numerous nieces and nephews in Ireland and Pennsylvania. Mike was a noble gentleman who cared deeply for his family and Irish heritage. As per Mike's wishes cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life will occur at a later date. You indeed were a treasure to all of us. "Pleasant dreams my dear" as you would always say. May you rest in peace.
