CONSATA (CONNIE) JANE FREEMAN (nee CURCIO) Connie passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2014, at the Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg, with her family by her side, at the age of 94 years. She was predeceased in 2005 by her husband Sherwood, of 63 years. Mom is survived by her three sons Paddy (Doris), Barry (Judy) and Michael (Patsy); nieces Elsie and Meryl; eight grandchildren, including special granddaughter Theresa; many great-grandchildren; extended family Alec and Linda Arnold, Joanne Johnson of Irvine, Texas. Thanks to those who cared. Connie had a long career as a hairdresser. She loved her work and the many people she met. She was an avid fisherman, earning bragging rights via the 25 lb Jack fish she caught! Mom and Dad bought a cottage on an island at Royal Lake creating a history of stories, memories (and of course) home movies to be cherished forever. Mom loved life. She loved to laugh. Although she was tiny, she could be feisty. Above all, she loved her boys. We'll miss you, mother. In keeping with Connie's wishes cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

  • Auntie Connie was a strong willed lady who loved her family. She was a great cook, especially her spaghetti. I had the privilege of spending a lot of my growing up years with her and unc as they were close to my mom & dad. I will always remember her picking me up from Paddy's to take me to the lake. Paul & I would like to let the "boys" & family know, you are in our thoughts & we love you. Take care of each other. Auntie Connie would want that! - Posted by: Lynne & Paul Thompson (Niece) on: Oct 21, 2014
