One of my massage therapy clients shared last week my surgeon had passed away. I could not believe it. The only reason I am able to be a successful RMT is because of this amazing man. He first repaired my left shoulder after tearing 80% of the tendons, and a few years later, I requested him for my right ACL knee surgery. In that surgery, he informed me my left knee was also needing an ACL repair. He said "I'll see you in a few weeks, then again in 6 months". The only reason I can walk, swim, bike, ski and weight train almost pain free is because of him. I am so sorry his life has ended yet his legacy of love, kindness and expertise lives on in all who knew him. - Posted by: Jackie Clark Tuzzolino (Patient) on: Nov 04, 2014

Dr. Froese told me once that we are here for our patients, they are not here for us. I have appreciated that advice over the years. Thank you for your fine work. I will remember. - Posted by: Karin (Co-worker) on: Oct 30, 2014

We were so saddened to hear of Warren's passing. Lynelle and I had the privilege of serving with him in baptismal classes several years ago. We really appreciated his humility and welcoming demeanour. Our son, James, also enjoyed spending time at your home when he was young. Warren was a man of God who will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Clive Taylor (Friend) on: Oct 25, 2014

Dear George and Verna, we are very sorry for your loss and want you to know that we share your pain as friends and also, unfortunately, through personal experience. Although we have never met Warren, his strong character, pleasing personality and giving spirit is apparent through the many tributes he is receiving. We pray that you and your entire family, Sandy and children in particular, will have the strength to cope during this difficult time. - Posted by: Vern & Alice Voth (Friends) on: Oct 22, 2014

I am so saddened to hear of Warren's passing, and have put Sandra, Matthew, Sarah and James even closer to my heart. I was always honoured to care for the Froese gang across the street and am so grateful always to bear witness to the love in this family. To Sandra: the Kuzina family has you at the top of our heart right now, and to the awesome Froese kids:(who are now bright shining and inspiring adults) know that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree xoxoxo - Posted by: Vanessa Kuzina (Past neighbour & babysitter) on: Oct 22, 2014

I was very saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Warren Froese. As I was a fellow hospital employee, Dr. Froese was always very welcoming and outwardly friendly. Upon Dr. Froese learning that I required knee surgery, he automatically placed me on his personal list of patients and treated me as a high priority for which I am eternally grateful in having had my necessary knee surgery performed in a an extremely timely manner. This enabled me to return back to work, which was becoming a pressing matter. Dr. Froese will truely be missed by all. - Posted by: Dave Carnochan (Former Patient) on: Oct 22, 2014

We would like to offer our heartfelt sympathy to Sandy, Matthew, Daniel, Sarah, and James for their recent loss of their husband and father. We have had the privelege of getting to know each of you over the past 10 years while riding on the rails. Warren's contribution to making what Narcoa has become and his enthusiasm was felt by many of us through the years. No one will be able to replace this wonderful man in any role he held. May you find support from the folks around you at this sad time. Thinking of you all. - Posted by: Lynn and Randy Baldwin (Motor Car Hobby friends Calgary) on: Oct 21, 2014

My deepest sympathy to the families and friends of Dr. Warren Froese. His life was a sermon lived. One sermon in humility that I do remember was Dr. Froese getting a mop to wash the floor after surgery when the other orderlies were busy. A true team player. Learning of his passing made this hymn play in my head "Let us labor for the master from the dawn till setting sun, let us talk about His wondrous love and care, then when all of life is over and our work on earth is done, when the roll is called up yonder I'll be there." May this bring comfort to your family and see you at the Meeting Place Dr. Froese. Hasta la vista! - Posted by: Thelma Meaney (Co-staff at Missericordia and St. Bono face) on: Oct 21, 2014

I am so sorry to hear of Warren's passing. I first met him as a clinical clerk, he was my attending surgical resident. He impressed then as not only a good doctor but a good person. Over the years his clinical care and his humanitarian efforts have been respected and admired by his colleagues. Warren was truly a one of a kind. He was always gentle, sincere and pleasant. It is ironic to see that he is gone as just last Thursday, I went to my grandson's school, MBCI, and they had a video presentation and there was Warren. I said to my grandson Conner I know Dr. Froese and he is a wonderful man.. I worked with him for many years at St. Boniface and am so very saddened to see that he has passed. God bless his family at this time. Warren you will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Eileen Huggins (friend/co-worker) on: Oct 21, 2014

My sincerest condolences to you Sandy, Matthew, Daniel, Sarah and James and also to George and Verna Froese and Margaret Derksen. I was so saddened to hear of Warren's passing. I had the pleasure of teaching Warren in Grade 1 and in later years meeting his lovely wife and teaching their wonderful children in their Nursery School years. I have probably had more casts put on my arm and gratefully removed by Warren than anyone as it was a yearly ritual at Angus McKay Nursery School during our Doctors and Hospitals theme. Warren always so kindly and willingly gave of his time to share with the children. I will always cherish my fond memories and will pray that yours will help to comfort you. God Bless You. - Posted by: Sharon Benjaminson (Friend and teacher) on: Oct 20, 2014

Dr. Froese and his family were very welcoming to me when my daughter was a baby and we attended the same church. In fact they attended her first birthday party! It was obvious to me that Warren was a remarkable man. To his family I say "no more sorrow". - Posted by: Lena Laufer (Friend) on: Oct 20, 2014

Dearest Sandy, Matthew, Sarah, Daniel and James, We have always appreciated your family. We especially are grateful for the warmth and committment you have shown as you have ministered to so many through your hospitality and kindness. It is sad that we must say goodbye to your beloved Warren, and yet a sense of joy that he is with the one he has served! Our prayers continue for your family. Romans 15:4-6New International Version (NIV) 4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. 5 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, 6 so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. "To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. I recently had the privilege of interviewing Dr. Froese regarding his voluntary work in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. His was a story of genuine caring and selfless giving. I worked with Warren years ago at the Grace Hospital when I was a nurses' aide in the summer. He went on to become a physician who was in the same class as my husband. I was sadden to hear of the passing of Dr. Froese. I was a patient of his for the past 14 years in which he conducted 3 different surgeries. Dr. Froese was the most professional caregiver I have had the privilege of knowing. He was a kind, considerate and compassionate man and he will be truly missed by all he cared for. My sincerest condolences to the family God Speed. - Posted by: Rick Kosowan (patient) on: Oct 18, 2014

My sincere condolences to the friends and family of Dr. Froese. Many years ago he operated on my shoulder and I still to this day remember him operating in Birkenstocks and socks! Dr. Froese, with his professional skills and knowledge, gave me my shoulder back almost five years ago. He guided the post surgery physio and I now daily enjoy almost total use of my right arm. Every time I put on my coat, or reach up to an overhead shelf, I whisper a quiet, "Thank-you, Dr. Froese". The world is poorer with your untimely passing. May God bless your family and those who were dear to you - Posted by: Milton Reimer (Former patient) on: Oct 18, 2014

My sincerest condolences and prayers go out to the family, friends and co-workers of Dr. Froese. He was a kind, sincere man. As a Unit Clerk in Seven Oaks Hospital ER, I've had many professional interactions with Dr. Froese. He always had a kind word and smile, appreciative of my assistance in the ER. I had the privilege of him attending to me as a patient a couple of years ago. His professionalism and kindness will be missed and remembered. - Posted by: Roseanne Johnson (Co-Worker (Seven Oaks Hospital ER)) on: Oct 18, 2014
