LES CLIFFORD January 3, 1975 - October 8, 2014 With heavy hearts we announce the tragic and untimely passing of our beloved Les near Elkford, B.C. on October 8, 2014. He is survived by his children, Kaden (6), Jordan (4), Marion (10 mos.) and their mother, Julia Kube. Also survived by his mother, Val Dryden and step-father Al; his father Ron Clifford and stepmom Lorraine; brothers, Dean Clifford (Medea), Kevin Dryden (Lindsay) Jordan Dryden, Jesse Clifford (Angela) and sister, Grace Ismail (Ali); maternal grandmother Elma Cheyne; Julia's father, Adelhard Kube, Julia's sister, Katrina and brother, Brent; He was also survived by his Grannie Clifford who sadly passed away on October 13, 2014; predeceased by his grandparents, Lester Clifford and Charles Cheyne, Mac and Gudrun Dryden. Les left behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and scores of friends all across Canada. Les was an extremely loving father to his children. He took such pride in them. Anything Les tried, he gave 100. He was a talented woodworker, carpenter and furniture maker. He had an amazing work ethic, was driven and focused on any job or task he took on. Les found solace and peace in hiking and driving the mountain trails around the Kimberley, BC area. He was an avid hunter and loved to fish. Wherever Les hung his hat, he made life long friends. He was an amazing skateboarder, snowboarder, and surfer. Les graduated from Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive Secondary School in Selkirk, Manitoba. He went on to pursue a career in welding. He was a very experienced rigger and iron worker. Les worked many years for Westower. Currently, he was employed at Teck Sullivan Mine Closure Co. and Rayco Steel in Sparwood B.C. Les had a certificate from College of the Rockies in timber-framing. He had attained his Level C welder certificate and would have acquired his Level B next year. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been set up for his children. Donations can be made at any Royal Bank to the: Les Clifford Memorial Fund 375 Wallinger Ave. Kimberly, B.C. or call 1-800-769-2511 A celebration of life will be held on Friday October 24 at 2:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion #42-403 Eveline St. (Lower Level), Selkirk, MB. Rest in Peace Les - We love you.

  • I had the privilege to work with Les at the Teck Mine in Elkford as well in Cranbrook. He was great tradesman and helped me while we worked together. I had the special privilege to meet his family saw how skilled he was with wood saw all his work he put into restoring the house and yes his man cave well his garage. But the blessing I have gotten from Les was to meet his family and get the biggest hug I have gotten in long time from his son.   • Met Les at work, definitely the best work ethic I've ever seen. Our time together was short but amazing, so loving and affectionate, I miss his laugh, his voice, and just have him in my life.   • It was always a fun adventure when anybody was in Les's company. He brought the best out of all of the people he was friends with and never went un noticed anywhere he was. Les you will be sadly missed by all those whose lives you have touched. You'll forever be remember by me as the funniest man to take over the Halloween being eddie shore old time hockey. Mullet and all. My husband Kyle and our children Owen and Liam's condolences are with Les's family as they try to courageously face his young passing and move forward from today and every day following.
