My "Auntie Noni" was a free spirit who did things her own way… like all the Madill girls, she was intelligent, beautiful, and strong-willed, with a love of animals (I remember those poodles!) She also had an inimitable sense of style: feminine, elegant, and lively. Having traded the settled life of a teacher for the romance of the open road, Lorna stole the hearts of a few fine gentlemen over the years and over several states and provinces, but simply could not be domesticated. Yet she stayed by the side of her late husband, Steve Stankovic, during the brief time they had before his (pre-existing) cancer claimed him. And she stayed in the life of the daughter of one of her former beaux: Brenda, whom she loved always. Auntie Noni was one of a kind, even in her own family. I'm glad I saw her last summer. She was ready to go. And she will be missed. - Posted by: Leanna Brodie (niece) on: Oct 23, 2014

My condolences go out to her sisters and the rest of her relatives. I met and have known Lorna for a long time. When she was in real estate She sold my uncle his home in Woodlands, Mb. She was a great school teacher. Upon retiring she spent many great winters as a Snow Bird. She will be sadly missed by those who knew her. She is in the Lord's hands and God be with her. Sadly missed but not forgotten. - Posted by: Sam Dunn (Friend) on: Oct 18, 2014
