DIANNE ALICE HYMERS (nee BYRNE) Born in Winnipeg on June 10, 1947, Dianne Alice Hymers died peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at the age of 67, in her Winnipeg home while recovering from cancer. Left to forever cherish Dianne's memory are her two children Stephen Hymers (Loren) and Andrew Hymers (Fitriyah); sister Caron Byrne of Qualicum Beach; brothers Roderick Byrne (Sandra) of Edmonton, Charles J. Byrne (Cathy Wickett) and Michael Byrne (Susan LeBlanc) of Squamish; granddaughters Natalie Werry-Sisk and Evelyn Hymers; nieces and nephews Colin, Brendan (Theresa), Alan, Lucas, Emma, Dillon, Evan, Katelyn, Maxwell, and Samantha; as well as grandnieces Brianna, Caelyn and Gabrielle. Dianne's whole life was about bringing joy and comfort to the people she loved most. She unfailingly put the needs of her family before her own. Day after day, year after year, Dianne's actions demonstrated the true meaning of unconditional love, kindness and compassion. Her career at the Royal Bank spanned nearly 50 years, starting in 1965 as a teller. Even though her true passion was family, Dianne always found a way to achieve extraordinary results at work, culminating with her winning the Leo Award, RBC's highest honour. On Saturday, October 18, 2014, Dianne's Funeral Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, with Rev. Don McIntyre presider. Dianne and I began our careers in the Royal Bank on the same day right after we graduated from Silver Heights Collegiate. Dianne was a people person always, which is why she did so well in her career. I always admired her intelligence and her sincerity. So sorry her life had to end due to this dreadful disease. She deserved better. My condolences to her family. - Posted by: Judy Bagnall (nee Campbell) (friend) on: Oct 18, 2014
