Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN TOEWS April 29, 1935 - October 14, 2014 Peacefully on October 14, 2014, surrounded by family and friends, John passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour. John leaves to cherish many wonderful memories; his wife Shirley, son Kirk (Jennifer), grandsons, Hunter and Rustin, brother Tony (Linda), sisters, Nora and Anne. He will also be missed by nephews and nieces, our wonderful neighbours and many close friends. He was predeceased by his father (1978), mother (1958), brothers, Abe (1982) and Peter (2006). John enjoyed his childhood as a farm boy and in latter years as an adult relocated to Winnipeg. John enjoyed a long and successful career working as an engineer for Central Park Lodges across Western Canada. John was a very devoted husband and father and truly enjoyed his grandchildren and many friends. Gordon Theobald was a very special friend to John for many years. John and Shirley enjoyed twenty wonderful years together and their shared walk with God created a strong bond between them that shall never be broken. Funeral services will take place at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave Street at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 20, 2014; Rev. Bruce Logan, officiating.

I remember John as very caring. All the visits to our farm in San Clara, MB. I spent a week with Karen in Winnipeg at their house, I was 13 or 14. It is a great privilege to have known John as a friend and colleague. I was both his employee (Summer Student) and later his boss at CPL, but always his friend. He taught me much in both capacities and was such fun to be around. John was truly one of the good people, generous, honest and loyal.
