He leaves to mourn: Louise, his devoted wife of 45 years, his loving children, Karen and Kevin (Sharm) and his cherished granddaughter, Liesl. Also left to mourn his passing are his siblings; Rudi (Cheryl), Else (Murray), Harry, Elli, special aunts, Herta (John) and Lydia, and many cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as Louise's family. He was predeceased by in-laws Brenda and Peter. Willi was born to Ella Schumacher in Wreschen, Poland on May 30, 1944. In 1948, Erich Kuebler, upon marrying Ella, accepted and loved Willi as his own son. The family immigrated to Canada in 1956, settling in Victoria, BC. Thinking of you today Willi. I actually met brother Rudi early in life while still living in Victoria, BC. We had many talks about his family. I didn't meet Willi until the Winnipeg Drug Section called on me. Willi was my supervisor for 2 years. I have never met a more professional nor honest person in all my life. What a dedicated professional he was. You are one of the few that made me feel prouder than some to be a Royal Canadian Mounted Police Officer. Thanks for setting the bar just a bit higher for me, Willi. You really enjoyed building things and I still have a few chuckles when I recall your challenges with constructing your garage in Winnipeg. I'll miss you! God Bless you and your family. - Posted by: Rick Saby (Fellow RCMP Officer) on: Oct 25, 2014

Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. I have such great memories of Willi, when he was stationed in Altona, and I was in Morden. He was a proud and honorable man, with a kind heart, big smile and the best laugh in the world. - Posted by: Bob Barber (Friend and former co-worker) on: Oct 20, 2014

I met Willi when I was very young, before he went into the RCMP and was still working with my Dad at the mill. I always looked up to him. We all enjoyed his stories, sense of humour and hearty laugh when he and Louise came to visit my parents, Judith and Willy Christians. Please accept our family's condolences on the loss of such a good man, husband, father and Opa. He will be missed. - Posted by: Lothar Christians (Family Friend) on: Oct 19, 2014

I had the pleasure of working on some cases with Willi while he was in Killarney. Fun to be around, great sense of humor and well respected by his co workers. I have fond memories of him, sad day indeed. My thoughts are with you, dave - Posted by: Dave mcinnis (Fellow rcmp member) on: Oct 18, 2014

Willi was one of those larger than life characters we so seldom really encounter. Honest, sincere and always up for a meal. I have more than my share of Willi Kuebler stories, everyone one of which never fails to elicit a smile and a chuckle. Like the time we were on surveillance, chasing a drug transaction and it was way past Willi's feeding time. I pulled into a MacDonald's drive-thru on St. James St.(one of the very first) and after waiting behind several other cars it was finally our time to place our order. Willi had decided before we even got into line how many hamburgers and how many pounds of fries he planned to order. Then, just as we were about to order, a message came over our radio telling us our target was back on the move. Without saying anything to Willi, I cranked the steering wheel, gunned the car and jumped the curve. Willi started to howell, make disparaging remarks about my character and threatened me with bodily harm if I didn't immediately return to the line. Not only did I have to continue listening to his ranks while we arrested our two drug traffickers, Willi continued to tell anyone who would listen days later how I tried to starve him to death. Rest in Peace Willi. Those of us who knew you will always remember you fondly. - Posted by: Mike McTaggart (Friend and former co-worker) on: Oct 18, 2014

I have had the pleasure of knowing Willi and enjoying his, and his family's friendship since his son Kevin married my best friend's daughter Sharm. Willi and his family became part of my extended family. Willi was a true gentleman. Always willing to help with anything. He brought a lot of joy and happiness wherever he was. He had a very lovely smile and his hearty laugh made you feel great no matter how badly you might have been feeling. I had the privilege of enjoying visits to Willi and Louise's home in Portage and wonderful holidays with them in Italy and France. Willi is a man who will be remembered with love. We will miss him but always remember him. He was an inspiration and a wonderful example. - Posted by: Bette Birmingham (Family firend) on: Oct 18, 2014

To the Kuebler Family I offer my sincerest condolences. I worked with Willi on numerous VIP projects and can honestly say he was one of the most stubborn, dependable and trusted persons I have ever worked with. These sentiments were also expressed by the certain VIPs. I share in you loss and memory of an exceptional individual. - Posted by: Robert Sparkes (Friend and co-worker) on: Oct 18, 2014
