Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILMA MITCHELL June 19, 1920 - October 13, 2014 Peacefully on a beautiful Thanksgiving morning at the age of 94, Wilma Mitchell passed away. She was predeceased by her loving husband Gordon after 55 years of marriage, her sister Emily Hawkins, brother George Sloan, parents George and Millie Sloan and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Mom loved her daughters Maureen (Kip) Tyler and Marilyn Bird. Her granddaughter Andrea Tyler was her pride and joy. Mom loved her home on Bronstone where she lived for 55 years. She enjoyed working in her beautiful garden, visiting with her neighbours and sitting in her gazebo and on her patio. Mom was happy socializing and playing cards with her friends old, and new. She kept in touch with friends from near and far by long phone conversations. She and Gord spent 25 wonderful winters as snowbirds in Palm Springs and made many friends there. A memorial reception will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. Thanks to all the wonderful caring staff at the Middlechurch Home. She had a great summer sitting in their beautiful courtyard. We are thankful for the wonderful life she had and the kind, gentle, caring person she was. The family gratefully declines flowers. I met Wilma only a few years ago. Fanny Sloan, her grandmother, was my grandmother's sister. Wilma told me about her visit to Moose Jaw when she was young. She met my dad, her cousin there.
