COURTNEY BARRINGTON MURRAY
Date of Passing: Oct 16, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCOURTNEY BARRINGTON MURRAY On October 16, 2014 our family suffered the great loss of a wonderful father, husband, son and brother, Courtney Barrington Murray. Courtney's story began in St. Catherine, Jamaica where he had his fondest memories of early childhood. He was the youngest son of 10 children. Helping his father on the farm gave him great joy and started his passion for gardening. He moved to Winnipeg in 1976 and adjusted well to the different climate. But the cold never stopped this hardworking dedicated man. He loved his sports and would still talk of the glory days. He passed on his excellent athletic skills to his daughters Michelle and Ashley and his wonderful artistic abilities to his oldest daughter Tristin. Though it was hard to get Courtney to take a break, he loved taking road trips with his wife, Lorraine, and whichever one of the children wanted to come along. He loved going out to his in-laws cabin in Ontario and making his mark out there. This kind, soft-spoken man, who would help out anyone who needed his time, will be missed by all who knew him. Left to mourn his loss are his loving wife Lorraine of 21 years, his daughters Tristin, Michelle and Ashley, brothers Tony, Henry, Orville, Ulric (Cheryl), Mario, Chris (Arlene), mother Mavis Bell, and sisters Sonia, Camille and Marva (Paul) as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father, Theophilus Murray and his sister-in-law Maureen. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. In memoriam donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral Arrangements in Care of Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium 1800 Day Street 204-224-1525
