EMILY SMYLSKI (nee MYK) December 22, 1915 - October 15, 2014 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Emily Smylski at the age of 98 years. Although we grieve her loss we are relieved her long days of suffering are over, and she has found sweet rest at last. Emily was predeceased by her sister Nettie and brothers Steve and Mike Myk. She is survived by her three children: sons Leonard and Randy, and daughter Elaine (Gary), and sister Marge Poudrette. Emily was born in Gilbert Plains, MB, the eldest of five children, to Nicholas and Annie Myk. She later moved to Edmonton where she resided for the next 50 years. At age 90, failing health brought her to live at the Citadel Care Nursing Home in St. Albert, AB. Emily was a very devoted Mom, and amazingly strong woman. She will be most remembered by all who knew her, for her lively and witty conversations and sense of humour, right to the end. A private family service will be held Thursday, October 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Park Memorial Edmonton. Cremation will follow. To send condolences, visit www.parkmemorial.com
