PATRICIA LOUISE GAUDETTE (nee GARBUTT) May 29, 1946 - October 19, 2014 Patricia (Pat) Gaudette passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2014 in the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care unit with her family at her bedside after a courageous battle with cancer. Left to mourn Pat's memory are her husband Harold, daughter Cathy (Kurt), grandson Quinn, and aunt Evelyn, cousins Kim and Derek stepson Chris and step granddaughter Toni-Anne. Pat was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Charleswood. From when she was six weeks old her parents took her camping in the Whiteshell. As an adult she continued to enjoy the beauty of the Whiteshell and formed many amazing friendships. Pat and her family camped at Otter Falls, Nutimik Lake and finally settled in the Pinawa Campground. She would always say she was happiest if she had rocks, trees and water around her. For 30 years Pat worked as a nurse, spending her last 18 years at Deer Lodge before retiring. She spent several years as part of a Red Hat Group. She also enjoyed an occasional visit to the casino for something different. Pat enjoyed reading, meeting with friends for coffee and travelling. Pat was a very proud Nana of her precious grandson Quinn, always there to cheer him on at his baseball games, basketball, art classes and other interests. They always had many laughs to share. In keeping with Pat's wishes, a private family service will be held. Thanks to the nurses and doctors of Cancer Care Manitoba (at both the McDermot location and the St. Boniface Hospital), the palliative care nurses that made the weekly home visits, the doctors and nurses of the palliative care ward of the St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba or the charity of your choice. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204-897-4665, is in care of arrangements. wojciksfuneralchapel.com
