PETER BOSKO It is with deep and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Peter Bosko, age 81, on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Grace Hospital with family by his side. Peter was born in 1933 in East Selkirk and in his youth moved to Transcona were he married the love of his life, Hazel (nee Parfitt) in 1954. They lived on Melrose Avenue for 39 years where they raised their family and he started working for CN and then moved over to the Dominion Malting Plant for the next 34 years. Upon retirement, they moved and spent 20 years in Arnes, MB until 2013 when due to health reasons they moved back to Winnipeg. He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Hazel, son Mark Bosko (Darlene), two daughters, Marilyn Dupont (Larry) and Judy Bosko McCarthy (Norm); grandchildren Jason Leeson (Karen), Corey Leeson (Kerri), Jeremy Dupont (Ashley), Brittany Dupont, Dallas, Kerry, and Amber Bosko and Jonathon Bosko Neufeld. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Tye, Tia, Evan, Noah and Laura Leeson; his brothers Paul and Alec (Marge) Bosko, and his loving walking companion, Jippy. He was predeceased by his father, Nick and mother, Katie Bosko. Peter leaves his family and friends with many happy memories filled with love and fellowship, his love of cards, music, playing the harmonica and bugle, bowling, and dancing. He was a member of the Khartum Shrine Drum and Bugle Corp. for 34 years and was proud to participate in the Shrine Circus and the many parades, especially in Gimli. Travel was a major part of his life, to the many Shrine conventions and many trips with family and friends to the Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii, Disney and other fun ports of call. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and the cottage life; especially cutting wood and gardening in his backyard. Words cannot explain how much you meant to us. You were our dad, our one and only; you were our leaning post. Even though you have left us, you'll still be in our hearts. Please watch over us and help us as we grow. You have taught us so much but there is still so much more to know. We're not going to say goodbye; we'll say we love you, and see you later. You'll be in heaven as a shining star; no matter how far away you seem, heaven is never too far. The family would like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge, Tuxedo Villa and Grace Hospital for the loving care you showed our dad and husband during the last few months of his life, and our friends and family for their prayers and blessings. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, October 27, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street, Transcona, MB. We were so proud to call you our dad and you truly are one in a million to all who knew you. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice. I will miss my Uncle Peter, my second dad, so much. So many great memories growing up as part of his family. His love and commitment to the entire family were second to none. His sense of humour and fun-loving attitude helped to lighten the tough times. A party wasn't a party without Uncle Peter! I just know he's in a better place and smiling down on all of us now. Party on Uncle Peter! Love Carol. - Posted by: Carol Martin (Niece) on: Oct 25, 2014
