Bob Lent: A bit of sigs info on Frank Richards. We served together during the early Sixties with NS/PEI Sigs Sqn in Halifax (I believe that was part of the old Cdn Army Signal System – CASS) – in particular, at the Receiver Site at Hammonds Plains. We were both R&TG Ops. Frank was a Ham Radio Op then, and was allowed to work on his Heath Kit radio a bit during midnight shifts. When he finally had the radio assembled, he fired it up, and had a bit of a disappointment – SMOKE!! He informed all that he had tuned his rig for MAXIMUM SMOKE. He did sort it all out. Frank did most of the Phone Patches from Rafah Egypt while we were there later in the Sixties. One hell of a Great Lad. - Posted by: Ross Campbell (RC Sigs ( A short comment as made in the Signaler in memory of Frank) ) on: Nov 03, 2014
