Mom married Dad on October 24, 1945 and settled on the family farm in Ile-des-Chênes. While raising her family, she worked alongside Dad supporting him on the farm as a dedicated farm wife. Although there were hard times, they prospered and built a successful farm. Mom took a great deal of pride nurturing and providing for her family, be it gardening, canning, sewing and everything in between. She prepared countless lunches to bring to the fields and even drove the truck when necessary. Mom and Dad enjoyed travelling to numerous destinations. Achieving their dream of travelling to Hawaii led them to having many more adventures around the world. When Dad passed away, Mom continued her passion for travel. She was a quiet woman who didn't like a lot of fanfare, but loved and appreciated the attention of her family. She was proud of all her children's and grandchildren's accomplishments, and loved celebrating their achievements. A private family service has taken place at Desjardins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, a donation can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. A special thanks goes to Dr. Coates and all the staff at St. Boniface Hospital (4B) for their care and compassion.
